Sue Salas


Job title: Senior Consultant




BSc (Hons)



Sue has undertaken a wide range of consultancy projects in England and Ireland over the last 11 years including a considerable number of evaluation projects of varying size and complexity. She is an experienced NHS manager and has practiced as a mental health clinician. Sue has an interest in acute and forensic mental health and in cross cultural mental health care. Sue is also interested in innovative and evidence-based practice. Sue is an experienced project manager. She is able to engage with a wide range of stakeholders including managers, clinicians, service users, carers and voluntary sector organisations. She is able to work with and alongside stakeholders throughout any project. She has also acted as Senior Nurse Advisor – Mental Health, on independent serious incident inquiries and on homicide inquiries.


Sue has completed a BSc (Hons) Psychology at Birkbeck College, University of London, an MSc Occupational Psychology, Birkbeck College, University of London, an MSc Culture & Mental Health, University College London and a Diploma in Clinical Risk and Claims Management from Capsticks & Open University. Sue also qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse and Registered General Nurse. Sue is trained in RCA methodology and has completed “Excellence in report writing” training via Bond Solon.

Sue’s recent projects includes:

  • An evaluation of an eleven-site collaborative approach to care planning in the Republic of Ireland.
  • An evaluation of the New Care Models initiative covering seventeen sites.
  • An assessment of the future configuration of psychology services across Sheffield.
  • An evaluation of innovative Safe Space Services in Bradford.
  • An evaluation of a Personality Disorder Service.
  • An evaluation of two pilot projects focusing on Black and Black British men in secure mental health care.
